The Dead Can Love Too: Zombie!Ichigo X Reader

2 days? 6 days? A month? A year? You could not figure out how many days it has been since you had human contact. Ever since that zombie virus hit Karakura Town, things went to hell fast. You was the only human survivor in a town full of the walking dead and you was very lonely. You venture out at night to get your supplies since somehow the dead have the tendency to fall asleep when it's dark. When you got your supplies, you retreat back to the abandon tower at the heart of the town and stay there until you are low on supplies again. When ever you see a zombie, you would cry to yourself. Why? Because to save your life, your friends, including the ones from the Soul Society sacrificed their lives to protect you, especially Ichigo Kurosaki, your crush.

Before the virus hit the town, you was a very shy person around people but when Ichigo came into your life, your shyness disappeared. This was how your crush for him developed. You was going to tell him your feelings when some of the students started attacking each other both you and him were confused until you pointed out that some of the students looked like they were dead, which they were. Pretty soon, when the virus hits it's peak, the entire town was quarantined and barricaded with a huge wall so no zombies can get out and infect the rest of the world. The last words he gave you when he hold back the zombies for you to escape was, "Don't give up hope (Name). There will be a way for this outbreak to stop, this I do hope."

Now, you are doubting what Ichigo said to you. Maybe this outbreak won't stop.

You was running low on supplies, luckily it was night time and you took this opportunity to to go to a shop to get more supplies. As you left the tower, you was unknowingly being followed by a familiar figure. You went into the shop and collected some supplies to last you for a week. As you left the shop, you froze on the spot when you heard a groan coming from your left. You turned your head and you saw a zombie walking towards. You shook in fear as the zombie came into light, it was your crush Ichigo Kurosaki. You walked sideways to avoid Ichigo's eyesight but when you bumped into a bin, his eyes was on you. 

You legged it back to the tower with your supplies but Ichigo kept up with you. Once you was in the tower, you locked up the door so that Ichigo won't get in. Daytime arose and Ichigo was still at the bottom of the tower with his eyes still fixated on you on the 3rd floor. When it was the afternoon, he was still there. You was getting more afraid, was this a zombie tactic? 

3 days later, something weird happened. You was finishing up your meal of the day when the steel door of the tower was knocked. You shakily picked up your shotgun and when down to the ground floor to open up the door. When you opened the door, you was greeted by the face of your undead crush. You fumbled around for your gun and aimed at his head while you was shaking in fear. The undead boy blinked at you reaction. "Don't c-c-c-come near me zombie. You may have the face of Ichigo but I know if I let in you would devour me!" You stuttered. Ichigo stared at you and lifted up his arm revealing a huge bag containing supplies. "I-Is that for me?" You said to the zombie, he casually nodded yes and handed you the bag. Ichigo left the building, probably to get himself something to eat.

You went back to the 3rd floor to think to yourself. Why did the zombie gave you supplies? Could it be that a bit of Ichigo's persona was still intact? Your train of thought was broken when you heard knocking on the door, Ichigo has come back. Feeling a little bit braver, you decided to let him in. Once he followed you to the 3rd floor, he quickly hugged you and started purring. This was different behavioral patterns from the rest of the zombies, he wasn't attacking you, he was embracing you. " (N-N-Name)..." Groaned Ichigo, maybe his mind was slowly recognizing you. 

4 weeks since Ichigo found you and things was going good. He chase away other zombies, he kept you company when you have a nightmare and he would help you get supplies for yourself. At one point, he hugged close to his chest and you heard it, his heartbeat. Normally when a person becomes a zombie they have no heartbeat, Ichigo on the other hand was an exception. Because he was spending time with the one person he remembers after he became a zombie, he was slowly regaining his humanity and his secret feelings for you.

One day, while you was preparing a meal for yourself, Ichigo tries to tell you how he feel but no luck. Suddenly the building was filled with the sounds of marching footsteps as the door of the 3rd floor was shot open revealing the military forces. When you saw them pointing their weapons at Ichigo, the colour left your body. "What are you doing? He's not hurting anybody." You shouted at them. "Sorry madam, we have been tasked to eradicate all of the zombies so this one has to go." Said a soldier. Ichigo looked at you with sadness in his eyes. You grabbed Ichigo and fled the building as the soldiers opened fire on you and Ichigo.

You and him escaped into the forest but one of the bullets had punctured your lung and you collapsed n the spot. Ichigo didn't want you to die, not while his humanity was returning. He lifted you up and looked into your eyes. You knew what was coming and you said to him, "Do it." Ichigo bit you on the shoulder and waited for you to change. While he waited he utter the very words you wanted to hear, "I....Love....You....(Name)..."

3 years later

Karakura was filled with life again but with better security. No one never knew of the 2 zombies living in the outskirts of the town who only ate human food and some animal flesh. In the house of the undead couple, you was resting your head on your husband's lap taking in the heat of the crackling fire while Ichigo read a book and stroke your head affectionately.

Who knew that the dead can fall in love as well?
