After the debut and opera of Asriel Chrysoberyl, the Anime Gems help the host club clean up the music room. Tash noticed that Karamatsu is nowhere to be seen until her hearing picks up singing. It was a smoothing melody to her ears. So smoothing that she had to find the source. Using her teleportation skills, Tash teleports to the roof to see that it was Karamatsu who was singing but she can tell that there is sorrow in the melody. But she is surprised that Karamatsu can sing so good but why doesn't he sing in public? Answer was simple; Karamatsu was self conscious about his singing. He knew he was a good singer, heck, better than his tone deaf Older brother Osomatsu but because the brothers pay no attention to him even when he's painful and the girls he tries to woo hurt him, it made him doubt that gift. When Tash first saw Karamatsu on the roof a while back with a guitar, she thought that he was going to sing in a painful way but he decided against that making her wonder. Even when he was with Sky Blue Topaz, he never sang to her. 

Though in truth after the bad introduction and after Karamatsu's unpossession of Chara along with him wiping the memories of himself in Pink's mind clean, Tash began to develop a crush on him until it became full blown feelings towards him. Hearing him sing made Tash sing and she knew that she was a good singer. By singing the next verse but with a bit of optimism, Karamatsu began to notice that Tash was next to him not to sock him one but to sing with him. This made him feel happier and resumed singing with the Apatite until she placed her hand on his. As they sang together, their gems glowed and 2 voices became one as the pair fused into Kasha the Lighting Ridge Blue Opal. The first time Karamatsu had fused with the girl he tried to woo only to get socked in and now brought her close due to his singing. 

Kasha is self conscious about his singing, a trait inherited from Karamatsu and only sings quietly to himself. When the jaspers are around, he shuts up. Most of the time he is quiet but he had spoke a bit. Kasha has selective mutism so he'll only speak when he feels like it. As Kasha, Karamatsu can drop the cool guy act as Tash makes him at peace. In fact, the jaspers even wondered where Karamatsu went when they saw the fusion cause they normally ignore him. Kasha is not painful as he is the manifestation of Karamatsu's true self and his new love for Tasha.
